Today we will be talking about 10 ways on how to be more motivated. There are times in life where you may feel completely overwhelmed by all the garbage going on. Then you find no reason for holding onto hope that things will turn out right. You have little, if any, motivation to continue with some of your commitments.

When this happens, many become saturated with feelings of despair and accept defeat. But, while you cannot control what will happen to you, you can definitely control how you will respond to it.

You can choose to create a positive, empowering environment for yourself, and consequently, you will become more motivated to pursue and achieve your dreams and goals.

10 Ways On How to Be More Motivated:

1) Expect Good Things:

The law of attraction tells us that the universe will give you what you ask for- what you attract to your life. When you expect something good to happen to you every day, it will surely happen. Conversely, if you expect something bad to happen to you each day, it will happen according to your expectations.

When you wake up in the morning, you can say to yourself, aloud, that something good is going to happen to me today’. As simple as that sounds, it is enough to keep you on top of your game throughout the day knowing something good is awaiting you along the day.

2) Take Stock Of What You Can Control:

While you can adjust some things in your life, there are others you can never change. Leave alone the things you can’t change and concentrate on changing those things you have power to change. Trying to change things that can’t be changed is to set yourself up for frustrations that will in turn drain and kill your resolve. 

3) Put Your Mind On A Diet Of Positive Information Everyday:

When you feed your mind with purely inspirational material, you will always be motivated. Head to the bookstore or to the community library and get at least a book that is full of inspiration, read it and let it give you a boost.

You can also create an inspirational playlist in your gadget. As you listen to the inspirational melodies pouring out of your music device, you will get more and more motivated. As a human being it is natural to need constant reminders reassuring you that you are capable of great achievement. 

4) Avoid Negative, Pessimistic People:

Nothing saps your resolve as a friend who keeps reminding you why a particular thing is impossible. Negative people and their negative conversations will distract you and take off your focus from the goals you have set for yourself.

In case you can’t avoid being around a negative person, then try not to engage in conversations that will let the negative person to contaminate you with their negativity. In case you find yourself caught up in a conversation that is headed to the wrong direction, then quickly change the subject to something more positive and productive.

5) Affirmations:

Never underestimate the power of words. Words have a creative force. They can build or destroy. Regardless of what is going on around you, speak out as an affirmation what you would want to happen.

Write out an affirmation and stick it somewhere you are sure you can see every day- a place like on the door of your refrigerator or on your bathroom mirror. The affirmations can keep you psyched up.

6) Learn From Past Mistakes:

Mankind always makes mistakes. The secret is to learn from them as you keep moving to the next milestone of your life. You can conduct regular self-evaluations, see how you handled situations, take note of the pitfalls and avoid them the next time you are in a similar situation. Overcoming mistakes and weaknesses is one sure way to fire one’s self up and keep being motivated.

7) Come Up With A Plan:

Planning permits you as the planner to think through the process from the beginning to its conclusion. This obviously improves productivity, ensures great outcome and inspires many ideas.

Moreover, writing down an agenda motivates you to achieve it whatsoever. Without a plan, you have nothing to look forward to and that may gradually whittle down your level of enthusiasm and motivation to accomplish a certain goal.

8) Celebrate Always:

Celebrating milestones achieved, whether small or big, is one way of rewarding yourself for a job well done. Rewards play a crucial role towards staying motivated to accomplish a certain task or goal.

A celebration for those small milestones achieved doesn’t have to be something huge- it can be as simple a thing as treating yourself to a movie night or throwing a party.

9) Have A Support Team/Mastermind:

There is an adage that says that if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go with friends. Having the right team of friends to lift you up when you falter and fall is very crucial to your greatest success.

It is amazing what you and your support team can achieve when you are all motivated and are devotedly working towards a singular goal. Within your support team you can exchange ideas, partner to accomplish some goals and motivate each other when one’s resolve seems to flag.

10) Remember Your Victories:

You can assign a token to remind you of a particular achievement. Put the token in a place you will be able to see it all the time. It will remind you that you are a winner that alone will push you over the edge to achieve even greater things.

Just keep your trophies, special congratulatory notes and certificates nearby for the time when you will need reassurance that you are a winner and you can do it again.
